Adam Boozer: Shooting HD video with a DSLR....Why?
In the past 18 months or so, the film and video industry has been turned on its head since Canon released the first DSLR camera that had a "video" mode. The manufacturer had no idea what they had enabled by giving the power of stunning HD video with rich cinematic color and gorgeous depth of field to filmmakers. The results have been amazing and we are just getting started with this technology.
In my session, I will go over the advantages of using these types of cameras to shoot a project. I will discuss the pitfalls and limitations. I will sort through the mountain of available information on workflows and I will demo lots of cool gear. I have had the privilege of shooting with theses cameras in numerous situations, on varying size projects around the world and I looking forward to sharing my experiences.
I will be using example footage from my portfolio throughout the presentation.
I will also eat pancakes while in Myrtle Beach.

Bran Cedio: Creating Community, a Case Study
How do you use the internet to bring about change in a community—not just online, but in the meatspace as well?
This presentation will be a case study centered around a new project, temporarily called "Permeable Artworks". Its goal is to help kickstart a groundswell of change within the creative communities it touches, helping creators work together with the mutually-agreed upon notion that if we all act with openness, honesty, maturity, and kindness, it will make our creative lives soar. Permeable Artworks is an endeavour to break down the walls between groups and disciplines, to change the way we interact. It needs to start somewhere. And this revolution begins online.

Tee Morris: Access Denied: Remaining Safe in Social Media
Today, it is expected of people to be connected with Social Media. Instead of “Are you on Facebook?”, the question now is “What do you mean you are not on Facebook?” We have, however, stepped back to the days of Web 1.0, communicating without borders or restraints. Liberating as it may be, the risks should be considered. How much access does the outside world have to you, and how much information are you really sharing with your networks online? Perhaps with your own personal networks of 100, 300, (or for real Social Butterflies 500 or 1000), you are not so concerned. When your numbers reach 10,000, 50,000, or higher, the surety becomes less solid.
This is an honest look at TMI in Social Media, hosted by Tee Morris, the author behind All a Twitter, Sams Teach Yourself Twitter in Ten Minutes, and Podcasting for Dummies (with Chuck Tomasi and Evo Terra). Join Tee as he discusses the growing issue of digital security, what our expectations should be from online providers, and how to manage our own personal and professional safety in Social Media.
